I'm cutting my lawns. I'm so old that when I was born Australians were still British subjects.

One of my daughters asked me an interesting question the other day. How come the stores are closed on Christmas and Boxing Days, but open on our national day?

Odd.

The foto needs to be online first. So of it's currently on your hard drive then use an online hoster like image shack... Then just right click the image on question, copy the image location and paste that into a new post . But surround the text by

does that make sense?

Image Shack is blocked due to a spammer. You'll have to try a different host.

I was born in 1947. Australian citizenship only came into being on Australia Day, 1949. Dad served in New Guinea in WWII.

The flag had a red background until 1953. Menzies thought it looked too communist. Until 1953 the blue background flag was only used at sea.

^^well i'll be fucked.

So the current flag is not the one our brave soldiers fought under in either ww1 or ww2 then......... Puts a different slant on the 'change the flag' debate for me then.
