Warren blasts Williams

Post by skillz_that_killz »

allegedly again called on Danny Williams to quit boxing after the British heavyweight champion pulled out of his title defence against Derek Chisora.

Williams agreed to take on the novice- a replacement for the injured Sam Sexton- after initially to turn up at the press conference.

But the 36 -year-old has now withdrawn from the February bill at the wembley arena with viral infection and Warren has finally run out of patience.

"It's very disappointing and frustrating after last week's antics for Danny to once again pull out of the fight leaving Derek in the lurch," he said.

"I'm just sorry for Derek who has trained his heart out for his British title opportunity and has had it scuppered- and remember that Williams didn't want to fight him when i tried to make the fight last year".

"I said last week that Danny should vacate the title or retireif he didn't want to fight him".

"Derek will still feature on the Night of Champions show and two boxers i am negotiating with have beaten Danny already."

Nathan Cleverly's challenge for the European light-heavyweight title tops a bill also featuring Kevin Mitchell, James DeGale and Frankie Gavin.

Sprott and Skelton ? If Danny did take the suggestion and retire, presumably the (then) vacant British title would be up for grabs...

If it's SSSam Del Boy would be in trouble.

But clearly it's Baker he'll fight and the other potential name will be a typical smokescreen.
