Wrong Information

Why is it that some of the fighters records listed on boxrec are incorrect? And why does it take so long for boxrec to correct the information once the correct information has been given?

Records are only as accurate as the source use for reference.
BoxRec gets daily results from eyewitness reports from the media and later anchors it with official commission reports.

Sometimes typo’s by reporters and commissions happen and we correct them when we are notified by members on this very forum.

Since we can’t just take anybody’s word for it, it sometime takes awhile to check it for accuracy.

Record books such as Ring, Fight Fax, and Pugilatto etc. are full of these errors and we have members at this very moment searching through Libraries all over the world to correct them.

The best example I can give U is the correction last year of Roberto Duran’s early record done by members on site in cooperation with Panamanian boxing historians & press reporters.

If U see any errors on BoxRec, please post them & we will get started.
