Top 10 Most "Gifted" Fighters of all time

Post by BoxingClinic2 »

this is not a list of atg by their merit. This is a list of ATG by their ability, let me give you an example.

RJJ would not make anyones top 10 atg list on merit. But he would (imo) crack the top 10 most gifted fighters of all time (based purely on his talent in his prime). Would like to know what you all think. What brought the topic to my head was the topic of someone asking if FMJ was a top 10 atg (which he isnt even though i LOVE him) but as for his boxing ability he may actually be up there. Anyway game on.

lol not really, if someone said i love fmj and want to gang rape him yes. I could see it being effemenate / down right gay (nothing wrong with that). I equate loving football and loving a boxer the same way . Shit cracks me up the ever evolving english language and 10s of meanings for words and thats the only way you can think of love... lol just lol. Now that the topic has been hijacked can we move on and get some list posted?

Talk about high on a guy. Forget Hearns, already. You over-rate him badly. He was great, not God.

Just talent and ability? I think Naseem Hamed could make this list. All talent, NO COMMITMENT. His ability to get powered leverage from stances that should not have produced that sort of wallop is amazing. But he never parlayed that talent by focusing on the things that would have given him the ability to endure the passing of time and the things that time will eventually take away from you.

Whitaker might be at the top of the list...along with Willie Pep. Pernell actually did something with his talent, by truly honing his talent and forging himself into one of the greatest of all time. Roberto Duran is a similar case IMHO.

can think of a few fighters but i dont think they would top the list.

Zab judah is one. Hamed definitely ranks up there and pernell definitely belongs up there.

You overrate your opinions. He is my favorite fighter, I'm a hugger. But are you seriously trying to say he wasn't gifted?

I dunno if I can come-up with a great list of the top 10. But I really like RJJ, SRL, Pernell Whitaker, and Manny Pacquiao in this category.

Am I in a parallel universe?

Hamed in the top top all-time most talented fighters? Someone just mentioned this, & another person seconded it. I can''t be anymore polite than to say that is simply retarded.

Saad --- now it's all clear. I just said Hearns was great, didn't I? However, for someone to say it's, "nuts" to call Chavez more accomplished than Hearns --- yeah, that could only come from a 'hugger.

I'm an admitted hugger, is this the thread to tell me to get over him? I'm asking you, Hearns isn't a legitimate answer here?
