Richard Hatton Vs Frankie Gavin after 12 pro fights and both undefeated, who wins? IMO Hatton beats him, i cannot say how because i do not no how good his chin as the moment, but Hatton looked way better.

i have to say that i would agree!

if its over 6 gavin 60-54 over 8 80-72 and so on gavin is quality

he doesn't hit the hardest but he's quick and accurate, he'd cut hatton to pieces and out box him

Yes you do to be truly world class. A young Hatton beats him, that I have no doubt. TBH I am not a big Hatton fan.

But Frankie hasn't had 12 pro fights yet, why dont you answer this when he has, Frankie is class and will still get better with time

Rose actually, But Frankies skill is undeniable I just wanted to no what other posters would make of a macth up that no one could ever no what would happen. But I do believe you need power at world level but then again Frankie has great technique and punch selection so you never no.

I aggree totally with that. I just wanted to no people opinions on that hyperthetical question. Hatton and Gavin are totally different fighters so it would be interesting to no what people think.

Only 2 of Hattons first 12 went the distance and what with Rickys short amateur career, Frankie would certainly have the edge in experience.. With this in mind, I think Gavin would have adopted the appropriate tactics avoiding Hatton, using his footspeed to stay out of range of Rickys preferred infighting. For me, Gavin picks him off and wins on points, but it's worth another look when he reaches 12 fights or faces more dangerous opponents...

I think It's unfair to judge really until Frankie has at least been afford 12 fights don't you think? he's only half way there.

Good question though, which i'd need to review the footage before answering.

But Frankie has changed significantly since his debut. He will change significantly more in another 6 fights time.

I think Gavin would beat him. Watson boxed his head off at Eastlands and while Hatton appears to have improved since then I've no doubt Gavin could do a similar job. I just can't imagine Hatton being able to cut the ring off effectively as he seems very one-paced.

Gavin will be 25 by the time he has 9 fights, by this time Ricky was headlining fighting Vince Phillips in front of 15,000 at the MEN.

A very difficult comparison to make. Gavins opposition has certainarly been better than Rickys first 9.

Very true. Ricky turned pro at 18 after minimal senior experience, whilst Frankie stayed in a vest and reached the pinnacle of the amateur code.
Very difficult to compare their early pro careers.

I have little doubt that Gavin digs harder than him..
A fighter needs enough strength and power to prevent his opponent walking through his shots. I am confident that Gavin has sufficient strength and weight of shot to compete at the higher levels of the pro game
