1.1million viewers tuned into the BBC’s one day delayed screening of Danny Williams vs Michael Sprott and haye vs mock last Saturday.

The BBC said they were very happy with that figure, as it is only 100,000 less viewers than Football Focus did on the same Grandstand programme.

All in all I percieve that as good news. Perhaps the BBC will now see the added appeal of Live Prime time boxing.

Footie Focus has had a long time appeal amongst sport fans and I think it will be one of the last programmes the Beeb will drop. Obviously, they can't move to prime time (as they are previewing the 3:00 kick offs), but if the boxing did this well - well this can be moved.

I know they haven't been perfect, but still I hope it will encourage the BBC into securing more rights. The times aren't that important just that they show all the action and more of it.
