Bradley Pryce...anywhere left to go?

Post by Samuel Brooks »

After his dissapointing performance last weekend in Prizefighter, has Pryce got anywhere left to go?

At one point I genuinely thought he would be challenging gor World honours, but it seems to have all gone a bit wrong.

Thoughts?

Fairly feasible to see him going back to domestic level, small must be ready to move on soon. Bradley was always a 12 round fighter, and many said he'd struggle with the 3 round format. He went 100mph in the first fight, and it seemed to take a lot out of him. Wouldnt mind seeing a rematch between him and Aaron, because I dont think it'd be a clear cut Aaron victory. Surely Bradley wouldnt be as clueless as he was in the first round of their fight last weekend?!

he posts on here, so lets see what the man himself has to say.

Apparently he is considering dropping down a weight...

Pryce didn't exactly look ripped at the weight, then again no Enzo Calzaghe trained fighter ever has...but I reckon he'd get back down to welterweight comfortably.

There's still opportunities for Pryce at domestic level, but at WW I don't see him beating either Brook or O'Donnell IMO he'd be better off sticking at light middle, we all knew he was a 12 round fighter previously, plus I think the fight with Sinclair took a lot more out of him than he thought it would, he was trying to blast Sinclair out of there, bad tactics when you've potentially two more fights in the night.

Brook wont be at domestic level in 6 months and I personally think an inform Pryce can hang with O'Donell. Some good fights at the weight for Pryce, a blast-fest with Mark Thompson maybe?

I think his biggest problem will be the additional weight that holds him back and which appears to hamper his every move - Cut Enzo Calzaghe lose and he may have a future!

No. He should retire. He will never challenge the best at domestic level.

He did not perform at his best the other night. Stick him with Small or Webb winner.

pryce had some cracking wins & performances but seemed to go under the radar & was largely inactive & apparently he & rees are both not very dedicated, & when pryce lost to hall he looked soft leading up to it i felt.
he could end up another paul samuels.

It looks Awkard - Pryce doesn't look super cut at Light Middle...... but I wonder if he is too long in the tooth to boil down now.

Opportunties will still be there, I don't think the Prizefighter will lose his appeal that much, infact his relatively poor showing might open some doors - he was quite avoided before then. Look what a prizefighter loss (albeit in a more crediting performance) do to Jason Cook.

Yes I always felt his best weight was welterweight. I am assuming he just took the fights at lightmiddleweight as the opportunity for the Commonwealth title came up.

Never signed apparently.

prizefighter was a gamble,im a 12 round fighter,i dont believe iv peaked in boxing yet,and hope this year shows that,i am considering a move down to welterweight unless a small rematch can happen,as for boxing el machi,iv not heard anything and wouldnt box him in a 6 rounder anyhow.i want a 10 or 12 rounder next.

You can't judge him that much on a novelty tournament like Prizefighter. He looked fairly impressive against Sinclair and fought the wrong fight against Aaron. He can still fight for domestic honours without a doubt. He still has plenty to offer to boxing on the domestic scene.

I cannot obviously comment on any individual negotiations. The 15k is available. Has been some other interest. Yassine will even drop to welterweight to make this fight. He will fight 6 8 or 10 rounds. He is not scared to face anybody. He wants action. As far as we understand the original agreement from bradletys team has been rescinded

The purse plus a 15k bonus for winning over 10 rounds, with notice, should be too good to turn down

Someone needs to force Pryce to retire before he gets seriously damaged. He looked awful against Aaron Jones and I mean AWFUL. He looked like a novice. No gameplan nothing.

Yes thats fair enough. I'm pleased Yassine is getting some backing, good luck with it.
