Phil Gordon

Post by kristie »

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone has any information on an amateur boxer from the early to mid 1950s by the name of Phil Gordon. He boxed out of Saint John, New Brunswick. He's the older brother of Lloyd Gordon who boxed pro and won the Canadian Flyweight Championship in 1957. Phil Gordon won the Maritime Championship, but I can't recall which weight division it was for.

Thanks,

Kristie

It is almost impossible to get any information on athletes prior to 1987. I suggest that you contact the New Brunswick newspapers and see if they have anything in their archives. You can also email the Canadian Amateur Boxing Assn. through their web site at www.boxing.ca. Someone at CABA might be able to help you. You can also contact the New Brunswick Assn. at Boxing New Brunswick Boxe, 413 Millidge Ave., Saint John, NB E2K 2N3 T. 506.652-8251

Good luck! :D
