This has already been on the British board for a couple of days, one of the great British boxing announcers, RIP.

Loved it when he broke from the unbiased opinion of a commentator when Bruno fought Tyson for the first time.

"And He's hurt Tyson! he's hurt Tyson! Get in there Frank! he yelled. :P

A classic moment for the British Boxing Fan.

There was an opponent who nicknamed himself the Master of Disaster. He got KO'd by a British prospect (can't remember who)... Harry said "That really is a disaster for the Master of Diasater"...

Still remember him on Sportsnight... Brilliant.

Both are right up there with the very best commentators in the history of Boxing!

People have already mentioned Harry screaming "Get in there, Frank", but shortly before that as Tyson was prowling the ring in his usual manner Harry summed Tyson up by saying: "A man has come to work in the place he understands best!".

Tyson was always fond of him. I have a great interview that Harry has with Tyson shortly before the first fight with Ruddock. Tyson even comments "You are a very nice man, Harry!".

RIP Harry! :box:

I have some footage of Harry Carpenter giving a post fight (end of career summary practically) of Ali following the 1st Spinks fight.........very well put across BUT he is told immediately after having finished that the tape people never got it and that he had to do it all again.......

Carpenter gave a McEnroe like reaction in that he just pulled that face McEnroe pulled "when he realised he wasn't going to get anywhere with his line query".....Carpenter followed up the "BBC muck up" with another flawless delivery........immaculate!
