Request for new board on Boxrec forum
Good morning folks,
Bit cheeky this but worth a shot. I was wondering if at all possible the powers that be could create a forum/board dedicated to 'Training'.
I was recently permabanned from ESB for issues relating to Granny Porn (not personal use) and that means I can no longer use the training part of the forum, which was actually very good. I've scowered the net for similar but seeing as Boxrec is my new e-home, I was hoping some people may agree with me that it could be hugely useful for a number of reasons.
Firstly, most people realise the importance of exercise- it would be a great way to encourage forum users to increase their activity levels and also would provide a free resourse for the correct way to exercise. Too many people just go to the gym once a week, stand on a stepper for 10 mins having a chat, and think thats sufficient.
We can provide people with an oppertunity to track their progress online. Dated and timed.
We have a great selection of fighters, and trainers who use boxrec. If some of them were to share a few of their strategies it would really help aspiring trainers and exercisers alike.
Exercisers can share tips and idea's.
We could review products and gloves, pads etc...
We could also offere advice on how to improve to young boxers or people just looking to learnt he basics.
I understand that it would take some time to administrate etc and I'd be more then happy to moderate the forum myself.
Just wanted to get some fellow Boxrec'rs feedback and see if the idea's got legs... I'm certain it has. Who knows a bit of advertising on there might make a few quid for the forum owners.

Re: Request for new board on Boxrec forum
I'm a qualified personal trainer and an ex am and pro boxer, and the amount of things that boxers and exercisers in general do wrong, is unbelievable. Honest. There is so much more to think about then people sometimes realise. I was so naive when I was boxing. Looking back i'm gutted, could have done much better with bit more knowledge of what was occuring in my body.

The way forums are supposed to work is that you create new ones depending on demand/popularity. With the amount of training topics we've had in this forum (British & Irish) and the Current Scene, it's not worth it. Why don't you post the topic(s) in here like the people before you?

I think that's a cracking idea
Re: Request for new board on Boxrec forum
Ive seen quite a few over the years, just the other week there was a marathon training one, and about a week or so before that some lad who was a heavyweight going to fight in the ebf and asked for tips etc..Asterix wrote:The way forums are supposed to work is that you create new ones depending on demand/popularity. Request submitted to the big wigs for you Jeff.

But then the Mundial posters, at least some of which don't converse in English, wouldn't have anywhere to post.BIGMARK wrote:i wouldnt post a training question here as i dont think it's the place to do so as it's talking boxing not boxing training. John should look at dumping Boxeo Mundial as that place gets no traffic and replace it with Boxrec TrainingAsterix wrote:The way forums are supposed to work is that you create new ones depending on demand/popularity. Re: Request for new board on Boxrec forum
Thanks for the replies lads, Asterix I understand that I could ask questions about training here- but I don't just want to ask a passing question about kettlebells on a british boxing forum- in terms of 'british boxing' its irrelevant.
I think training forums are a great source of information and recording.
If its done right it would be a great success. Obviously like anything it would take a bit of time to get going and get, the right information there- but we've got a great template at ESB and on some of the other sites.
Could be good.
Thanks for the support, look forward to the reply- as long as its not a ban ha ha
PS Rosstraining is excellent. Bit mind blowing if you don't understand the basics of fitness.... Try www.brianmac.co.uk..... Thats pure, undiluted- personal training information. Great little site for fitness, information and advice.

I bet there are more topics on Audley Harrison.Wales wrote:Ive seen quite a few over the years, just the other week there was a marathon training one, and about a week or so before that some lad who was a heavyweight going to fight in the ebf and asked for tips etc..Asterix wrote:The way forums are supposed to work is that you create new ones depending on demand/popularity. I think it's a good idea, actually. Not that I would use it very much but I know it's a popular subject.
There's no way BN would be arsed to release an imprint on this area if there wasn't demand for it.

I'm a qualified PT as well as licenced second and loads of other qualifications. I'd be up for something like this.

Re: Request for new board on Boxrec forum
Perhaps the relatively low amount of training threads is precisely BECAUSE there is no obvious place to post them. I say give it a whirl. I would definitely go there from time to time.Asterix wrote:The way forums are supposed to work is that you create new ones depending on demand/popularity.
