I had a message left for me to say Jackie Turpin, brother of Randolph and Dick, died this morning at the age of 84. Jackie was pretty good himself, fought on Randolph's undercard for the Ray Robinson rematch at the Polo Grounds and in Madison Square Garden when Randolph boxed Carl Bobo Olson. The record I've got for him has 131 fights - won 88, lost 35, 8 draws. Had his first pro fight at sixteen. In his latter years he was involved with the amateur club in Warwick.

Jackie wrote a book on his life, a very good read.
