Audley Wins Euro Strap in Shocker!!!

Post by skelp »

Audley Harrison has stolen the European Hvy Strap in the last round against Michael Sprott.

Harrison was never in the fight until he landed a huge left uppercut to knock Sprott out in the final moments of the 12th round. Unbelievble.

He really did not deserve to win this, he did nothing alnight!!!

He looked lost for all of the fight, refusing to throw the right, but fornicate me that was a hell a knock out punch. I would call it a looping left hook rather than an uppercut.

Well done audley!

You might want to change that title- some folks record boxing to watch back later etc, and that gives it away.

No disrespect, but why the fornicate would they go on a boxing forum if they are trying to avoid a result?

Anyway, credit to Audley for fighting 10 rounds with a damaged right shoulder. Explains why he looked like crap for most of the fight...

Fair enough- but it's one of those things- it doesn't hurt to not give results away.

Personnaly, I've just got back from work, chilling out, checking forums etc- and will be watching it on one of the repeats tommorrow. Myself, I don't care - I am happy to know the result. But someone esle might not want it spoiling.

Audley didn't deserve it. If he did have a damaged right side then fair dues for staying in there, but he fought poor what ever the reason. Shame for Sprott, but anyone rated above Audley now will dispose of him no problems.

Good punch much needed from Audley but it's a shame it come down to that in the 12th.

Whicker's right. Call it a spoiler and don't give the result away.

Some people are addicts and come on here even though there is a danger their repeating viewing will be spoiled.

I know, I know...but it's true.

Be honest, though "on paper" was it any worse than Sprott V Harrison?

Caught a glimpse of this in the pub..... but missed the later rounds.
If audley was bad, I presume Sprott was winning on points before the KO?

I had Sprott up easy by 4 when Harrison threw a swinging left hook for the KO.

Why did sprott appear to go for the ko in the last round? he was up on the scorecards, so really speaking, he should have stayed away.

I had Sprott ahead like everybody else before Audley seperated Sprott from his senses... I was first excited by such a devastating KO but then calmed until I knew Sprott got back up ok.

I was taken aback as I didn't see it coming given Sprott was outworking the injured Harrison and having a decent lead... Perhaps he should've just clamed up/spoiled to get himself over the line rather than go for the KO in the last.

Credit to Audley for keeping a desire to win and he pulled it off with some luck and a massive punch... If he enjoys nothing else, he can at least enjoy this (i'm never going to believe he'll win a World Title).

Got to feel for Michael but enjoy the win Audley.

Sprott was his own worst enemy last night.

He was clearly ahead on points and he knew it (he said in the interview that he had a massive lead). He was fighting a man with one arm, proven by the fact that Harrison didn`t throw a right all night.

Therefore the smart thing to do in a 12th round is to keep away from your opponent, not go loooking for a tear up and leave yourself open. Big punch by Audley, but it could have easily been avoided for Sprott.

The arm injury makes it difficult to assess Audley`s performance. I thought he showed some grit at least and that punch shows he has the power to trouble top heavyweight, if he is able to land.

Watching Barker afterwards, I think he will struggle if he steps up to world level. Not enough power.
