Super Six - the best thing to happen in boxing for years!!!

Post by ALI »

This tournament has to be the best thing that has happened in boxing for a long time, period!

All the fights we have been treated to so far, and with so much more still to come, i still have to pinch myself from time to time to believe its all actually happening. Were in an era of boxing where the best boxers rarely fight their biggest rivals back to back, and often not at all. To get this succession of match-ups one after another really does beggar belief. But its on, Showtime have put together a masterpiece....... lets celebrate it while its here!

Best thing for the yanks to create a new superstar when Andre Ward goes 5-0 and wins it staying undefeated.

Absolutely.....its a brilliant tourament and the future of boxing hopefully

there are no easy fights in the super six and every fight means something and its just going to get better and better with the 3 round fights and the semi's.

Also the 360 Fight camp documentaries are superb.

New Super Six Standings: Arthur Abraham (3 points), Andre Dirrell, Andre Ward, Mikkel Kessler, Carl Froch (2 each), Allan Green (0).

The tournament is wide open, i'd be hard pressed to rule anyone out at this stage.

Were witnessing boxing gold here :TU:

Agreed its awesome. We've already had some great fights and with few postponements it's still going strong. I'm liking the extra 1 point for the win by KO/TKO too although only Abraham has achieved this. Froch would be doing really well had the Taylor fight been included.

I think we should be applauding the fight more than the concept. How many of us were saying "its not working" after the Dirrell vs Abraham fight, and questioning the bias towards Andre Ward.

I think what the Super 6 is telling us, is that the European's are looking very limited at the moment and that the best Super Middleweight in the world is between Andre Ward and Bute who sadly will not fight for the next couple of years.

It is a great thing for boxing and some excellent fights have been made, also all the fighters are evenly matched as showing in the table

The winning of it will then fight Bute!

Speaking of which, was he not considered for this tournament? Did he not want in as the replacement?

Godfather of Dole wrote:It is good in principle but the fights have been quite poor, Froch-Kessler aside, and have been lifted by the odd late KO and dash of controversy. Hope it does well though and the next wave produces some better in-ring action.
x2 - not many were saying it was turning out to be the best thing since sliced bread until after this one fight.

It's a brilliant tournamount and becomes more gripping as each fight unfolds. The home advantage is proving absolutely crucial and I'm VERY pleased that Froch boxes Abraham at home.
