RYAN WATERS
Hello Guys, just wondering how you guys rate him ? or wat should his next move be ? I personally love to see him mix it with Medley or King Davidson ? Opinions please...
Re: RYAN WATERS
Medley might be a bit of a stretch for him. Rob has held his own against champions.
Re: RYAN WATERS
I think he is an ordinary fighter who does his own thing if you look at his WBO defences they are agianst hand picked opponents who are
ok fighters past their best or havent boxed for a while he is number 7 WBO if he fought anybody in the top 15 in that division he would get slaughtered.
If we was had to fight anybody in the top 15 ibf or WBC he would not stand a chance.
But when you can promote yorself you can fight who you wnat the WBO dont car they are getting their sanctioning dollars.
He will never fight a medley or davidson because he would lose and that means he would loose his WBO titles and ranking that is how the WBo work if you lose a 4 , 6 or 8 round fight you lose your title so he doesnt want to throw away$15,000 in sanction fees he has payed.
He is hoping he gets a call up for a world title shot and lands 50k for his one round effort.
Good luck to him but thats boxing.

NO the rematch should be against Tui Leuveni, who almost knocked him cold with 15 seconds to go in there 6 round fight last year. That was a cracker and if a few more rounds had been scheduled Tui would have the number 7 ranking.
Re: RYAN WATERS
Maybe Ryan and Boxa could cross-promote an evening's action between himself and Mundine and call the night: The Clash of the Protected Species!
Re: RYAN WATERS
He fights in his home area of Cronulla. The club was packed to the rafters on Friday, lots of sponsor logos and promotions on the night. It's hard to make a buck but his camp has built up a good local setup. There has to be something right about that. He is no world beater but I think knows his limitations . The Comer fight was tough one though Waters won clearly. Medley is about as big a stretch as Waters could handle but hey, he's putting bums on seats in a part of Sydney where there would otherwise be no boxing.

Totally agree Dawg. I was at the fight and everyone sitting around us thought Tui won.

A rematch against Leveni should be on the agenda, but I'd also like to see him fight LoPorto or Bryant. Any of the three would make for good fights, Waters could potentially lose to all of them.
