not a busy year for Jared Fletcher
not a busy year for Jared Fletcher
Any idea what he has been up to? It appears to be about six or seven months since his last fight which is unusual for someone building professional experience. It would be good to see him have a bigger second half to 2010 and so that he is ready to take on some of Australia's best super middleweights by mid way 2011.

Re: not a busy year for Jared Fletcher
article from feb this year:
THE normally unflappable Todd Kidd has admitted to some pre-fight nerves heading into his professional boxing debut this weekend.
Kidd, 24, is renowned for being a laidback character, even listening to the soulful Jack Johnson before stepping into the ring.
But the anticipation of his first pro bout, against little-known Sydney boxer Frank Droulias, has the former Tullawong State High student and Beijing Olympian a little on edge.
``(I’ve) definitely been thinking about it a lot, and how to approach it,’’ Kidd said.
``It’s similar to the amateurs, but it’s got a different style. I’ve got to slow things down, think about what I’m doing and place my punches in the right spot, and to not waste any energy.
``It’s (going to depend on) where I am mentally on the night, and putting it all together is really what I’m looking forward to.’’
Kidd and Droulias, who according to Boxrec.com has a 0-5 win-loss record, will do battle at the Fortitude Boxing Gymnasium at Newstead tomorrow night.
The fight was originally scheduled to be on the undercard of Kidd’s great mate Jarrod Fletcher’s hometown debut in Hervey Bay. But Fletcher dislocated his shoulder during a sparring session last Thursday and will spend a year out of the ring.
For Kidd, the six three-minute rounds in pro boxing will be a dramatic change from the amateur ranks, where he fought four two-minute rounds.
And while his decision to turn professional with Australia’s Commonwealth Games team set to be determined next month came as a surprise to some, Kidd is more than comfortable with the move.
``I thought about doing this for a long time. After the Olympic Games (in 2008) I was going to do it, but I thought I’d sit back and see if that’s what I really wanted, because once you go, you can’t go back,’’ he said. ``I had a couple of (amateur) fights last year but I wasn’t really motivated or doing what had to be done to be the best again. I just felt the change was what I needed.’’

Didn't he have a few shoulder problems during his am career too?
Not looking good for him, which is a shame. Hope he heals up.
