What next for John McDermott

Post by IRLangmaid25 »

After being stopped by Tyson Fury in 9 rounds for the English Heavyweight title and final eliminator to fight Derek Chisora for the British title. How do you see the future for John McDermott.

I watched John do a lot of sparring with Tom Dallas who everone really rates including me, quality spar's is'nt the word, which imo John was the Boss, this was before the last Fury fight.. I dont think John should of left CJ Hussain, CJ knew how John is and know's which way to treat him John is lazy in training which CJ knew every excusse so could'nt get away with anything, where as Jim McD might of fell for some, it was hotter the other night which could of made a bit differance but John didnt look as Fit in his proformance.. John would be Way to much for Larry at this stage of his career.

Think he can carry on as a really tough gatekeeper on the domestic scene.

Gate keeper for British boxers. He will give any one who want's to make it to the top of the domestic scene an good run. I do think McD should have dug in and tried to finished Fury when Fury knackered from the 5/6th, and not just held back for the points win, that got himself caught when he was knackered in the last couple rounds of the fight.

he should be dropped. hes been hyped up for years now. surely the losses to popov, krence and then the wipeout by skelton proved that he is way out of his depth.

c level...just....

Unfortunately whilst John is a great bloke and an honest pro..

..he lacks the glamour and excitement in the ring to be a huge success.

He is in a tough situation, because he is way too good to be a gatekeeper, too dangerous to be a journeyman for younger pro's.

He needs to stick with it and hopefully get another crack at domestic honours.
