Anyone catch the vea fight"BRUTAL"

Post by iron rhino »

12rnds of hell for both fighters at a very good pace, doesn't get much more confronting than that fight for boxing,I know vea and wish him the best, surly he needs a rest ,a long one to recover,so the first punch landed on his nose doesn't do damage like it did in the first, well deserved win, congrads dommy!what a late replacement, wish they could be barnstormers like that!!

Awesome, brutal bout. I must say I was apprehensive when they announced a late replacement, but this guy was all guts. And Vea was sensational. To take that belting and sustain those injuries and win was great. Gotta agree with ya Rhino, Dom needs a long lay off.

Wow.... 12 rounds: amazing stuff. Vea has his work cut out if he struggled to beat Siale. Who had taken some serious beat downs before. None the less from all accounts it sounds like a great dual. good stuff!

So let me guess- Shane Cameron will hope to get through Amman first and then blast Vea for his "title". Hmmm....

yeah cracking fight. siale wasnt about to wear the "late replacement badge" was he?....vea needs to do something about his nose tho, preferably protect it . siale found a home for that left hand from the opener.
siale had a chin too. a lot of guys, after getting hit by vea, stay hit. but siale stayed in there for the long haul and made vea's night hell.

good stuff :TU:

missed the lucas browne fight though...how did he look?

Browne is a monster. He is remarkably fit and quick for a man of his size and hits like a howitzer. Leui did not have a chance.

Siale has a solid chin and does not go down but in all honesty If Vea is serious about much bigger things he needs to finish these sort of bouts very well. Great stuff from Siale and impressive to even get the nod from one judge. Excellent stuff !

This guy is a beast and has some good skills for a man his size in both MMA and Boxing. Would love to see him box a bit more....

What a main event. Well done to both fighters. The last round was like a Rocky movie. Both guys deserved a bonus for that effort. Local fight of the year IMO.

Browne really does mean it when he throws a punch.

There was more blood than on the killing floor at the old Homebush abbatoir!

That was the toughest and bloodiest fight I've seen for yonks and full marks to the courage and stamina of both fighters. Both will need some time to recover from such an epic.

The undercard was good value too. The card on the night was far more merit than the novelty events that Boxa promotes.

great fight, both boys dug deep and thru everything they had in their books, defence went out the window, siale had just come off a 12 rounder so he put on a top show, it was a shame there had to be a winner, i think christiansen called it 140-140, all the best :TU:

Who needs MMA or UFC with fights like that,(oscar v dommy)didn't catch the browne fight but there is one on youtube in tag team fighting at penrith where he fights sosai funaki straight up and he tags out first so monster, hardly, anyone can be propped up against easier apponents, let the guy get a few more fights under his belt ,then challenge some decent opposition then i'll make my mind up,but meanwhile back at the ranch good luck to him a few more fights he may be able to make a dent in the division.

This is how a show should be run, well done Grange. And as a brit very happy to see the Aussies realizing the importance of a major title such as the CW. Hope to see a lot more CW belt fights over here.

Vea, I have seen doctors pull out a fighter for a lot less then that, he is a brave and fearless warrior who I have now got a lot of respect for, in fact I rate him very highly for heart alone.

That big fornicating heavy who won (tats all over the fornicating place) I was impressed with aswell, for a big fella he has a lot of movement, will be following his career with interest.

Medley, Like his work, not going for the big KO but using his head and skills to wear is opponent down. Hugely impressed.

Gary Comer's parents in law are neighbours of mine. I felt sorry for him but knew he was going to have a problem with Medley.

Gary was outclassed. Robert is improving all the time.

What did everyone think of Xerres and Kanofski?

Thought Xerres won confortably and out classed Kanofski and got robbed.

Vea gets hit a lot, but is entertaining as hell, Vea has a good cornerman, I've seen him with other fighters but he's a very decent bloke to have in the corner.

Vea would have lost that fight in any other country IMO, that nose has been broken quite a few times in the last month, it's time for him to unfortunately have some time off. He's now fought 20 round of boxing with a broken nose in 3 months.

Siale is one tough SOB, he had been in some seriously tough fights recently also against Vaitele Soi, Jameson Bostic and Moyoyo Mensah, he wa s alate sub but in terms of late subs he wasnt your normal unfit trained for 2 days type he has only just come off a 12 round loss to Moyoyo Mensah maybe 2 weeks if that before the Vea bout. I dont rate Moyoyo highly and he beat Siale fairly easily for Veas to struggle with him.............perhaps Vea is beginning to reach his level. Having said that hard on Vea also having a last min guy thrown at him. Probably thought he was in for an easy night!

After seeing siale getting beat by his recent comp i thought it would be a easy night, but that nose exploded again in the first round, its a trend for Vea to start slow but that nose didn't hold up, he needs time off to let it heal and in doing so this might allow him to work on some decent defence.

Siale is a tough SOB agreed his head almost come clean of his shoulders several times and just retaliated, much respect :TU:

It is admirable that Vea fights on with a bad nose job but he should get it right first. Else from all reports he may struggle every time he has to fight. In any case, how wonderful to see an old school bout where both men gave it everything they had. great stuff.

He's fought 20 rounds since April with a badly broken nose, the man has a spoon full of cement before every meal.

The fight was 1 of the best I've seen....Fox is doing a great job with the Grange, they trully got this 1 right.

Not sure about that fellas, Xerres landeded the harder shots, But Kanofski was the far busier guy.
It was a UD also so im sure they thought that the Numbers of punches landed outdid the powershots.

We had 3 of the more senior Aus Judges in this fight. I thought they did a great job as it would have been easy for some to just put on there hometown blinkers and give all the close rounds to the hometown boy.
