Who is this Alan Page?
Who is this Alan Page?
Carl Froch tops the bill at Derby later this month in a 10-rounder for the inaugural English super-middleweight title against Manchester's Alan Page. The fight is also a British title eliminator.
Who is this Alan Page? Has anyone seen him fight? I've never heard of him.

A bit soon having a British title eliminator, I mean poor old Dodson or Foster don't have much time with their new belt.
And once again I ask where is Glenn Cateley or Dean Francis in this equation - okay Dean may have retired (no-one knows for sure), but Cateley is still active.
To answer your question, I to have never seen this guy fight. From what I can gather, he's undefeated, but untested and doesn't seem to have much on the power front.
A bit too raw for Froch I'm believe, I did consider Page for the 10th Spot in my rankings, but I afraid it would have been on guesswork having never seen him in action.
He made his pro-debut in 2000 but after 3 fights took a two year break and came back in December. His record is 8 - 0 (4ko's).
Bennie, he's faught both Ashton boys - Koing Dean in the 2nd (in 2000) and going the 4 round with Darren earlier this year. The rest of his opponents are importants and guys I'm not familiar with.
Sorry I can't be of more help.
BTW, I've noticed that some sites have spelt his surname Paige, I do believe that it is Page as boxrec when displaying his record.

I have seen him box once on Sky against Mark Phillips a journeyman with something like a 4-17 record.
Page looked ok, in clearly winning the fight. He looked to possess some good boxing skills. The only thing I would question though is his power, and I just have a feeling Froch will be willing to walk through his shots to land his own.
Froch KO 5

You can watch the fight here, Page boxed very well and was in the lead until Froch's strength took over.

Anytime mate, on another note how come you retired so soon, you can't have had too much mileage after 10 fights and the Froch loss would have put you in the domestic shake up at leastAngela page wrote:Coco them pictures are great thanks alot mate never thought I'd get as much feed back as I have thanks again![]()
