Does the Scene survive...

Post by Undefeated »

In Manchester if Ricky is actually retired?

I am sure it will 'exist' but will it once again thrive? I am not so sure, any thoughts? Who will lead the way?

I think it will continue to do OK but you can't really compare the Manchester scene today to what it was in the early 00s, which was the kind of thing that comes along very infrequently - not just one but a number of well-supported, exciting and talented guys all fighting out of the same city at the same time- namely a rising Hatton alongside Farnell and Gomez and even a young Jamie Moore and David Barnes.

With the exception of the Lazcano fight more than two years ago, Hatton hasn't fought in Manchester for ages anyway, much less regularly, and it was this regularity which was a big part of the "boom".

It will be interesting to see how much Hatton Promotions are willing to lose after the younger Hatton retires
