on top of the great Orme (a cliff).

anyone been in??

apparently once owned by Randy Turpin and inside there is a bar both named after and dedicated to him.

I went up it last week only the wrong side and found a dry ski slope of all things but I had to run back down as it was a school outing and the bus was due to leave. Bit gutted I was.

Yes, been in there. It was pretty dead, but given its location, it's hardly going to have a thriving base of regulars. Some Turpin memorabilia around, a crappy souvenir magazine for sale. Not bad as pubs go, I guess, but hardly worth a pilgrimage unless you're already in the area.

I've been in a few times and it's not a hotel any more but a tourist complex. Turpin used it as his training base. There are some great old photos and posters in the bar, and some great views across to Snowdonia.

I have a few pics:

The good and bad days, including a shot of Turpin's inexplicable loss to Bobo Olson.
