As we all know, Junior "allegedly loves me" Witter is fighting unbeaten Brazilian Kelson Pinto for the WBO interim light-welterweight title on December 13 in Manchester. But I'm confused as to why it's an interim title fight. I assumed it was because the champion Zab Judah was injured (he hurt his left hand winning the title from DeMarcus Corley), which would have made sense. So Imagine my dismay when I discovered yesterday that on the SAME night as Witter-Pinto, Judah defends his WBO title on Don King's brilliant show in Atlantic City against Jaime Rangel.
What's going on here? Can somebody with a better understanding of the game's modern shenanigans help me understand.

You're right bennie....have we missed something?! Has to be a WBO eliminator in that case - maybe they've got wind that Zab plans to vacate and take on Mayorga next, and jumped the gun with an Interim announcement.
Whoever wins, can't see Zab defending against them - certainly not Witter.
He's got bigger fish to fry, and has already said the belt means nothing to him - said something along the lines it was for his kids to play with - which I'm sure pleased the WBO pres!

Lets face facts
KELSON PINTO would KO Hatton inside 6 rounds
The guy is awesome
He'll eventually catch up and KO WITTER in about 5
Both Witter and Hatton are just second rate when it comes to the Light Welterweight Division!
Your in for a treat with PINTO.

I agree with Nasty that Pinto could turn out to be very hot indeed.
Just back to this WBO shambles. I thought interim titles were created to keep a title active while a champion was injured. But Judah ain't injured. He's defending his title on the very same night as two men fight for an interim version of his title. It's potty.
