Handwraps vs inner gloves

Post by m1kee50 »

The man I get my boxing stuff off reckons you can't beat handwraps.
I was using the inner gel gloves (from Decathlon) and I was starting to find my right hand knuckles were getting sore, especially the middle knuckle. Lefts fine.

So I have switched to 5m handwraps - but havent had a chance to use them yet... just wondered if anyone else had any other advice?

deffo handwraps for any contact sport - only thing hand wraps are good for is a bit of light sparing or hobby boxing.

Thing is with wraps though is you need to put them on right otherwise they dont protect your hands properly, and i know plenty of guys who can wrap their hands properly. Infact i hear thats alot of the reason Calzaghe had problems with his hands from wrapping them himself badly.

Thanks for the advice. I'll make sure to get the bloke who runs the training to show me.

I thought it was from using the sofa as a heavy bag?

Anyway, if you have hand problems like me inner gloves are essential. Otherwise use wraps. There's plenty of YouTube bids on it. That's how I leRnt to do it properly
