lamotta v duran at welter
jake lamotta or roberto duran???who wins and why? :??
Re: lamotta v duran at welter
..at 147 pounds jake would be in a hospital bed with tubes sticking out of his body, so it's unlikely he'd be released to fight duran.

what are you talking about? lamotta was world middleweight champ so he would have no trouble at welterjaclem2 wrote:..at 147 pounds jake would be in a hospital bed with tubes sticking out of his body, so it's unlikely he'd be released to fight duran.

Re: lamotta v duran at welter
At 147 I pick Duran to beat LaMotta senseless in a one sided fight due to dehydration of LaMotta trying to make 147.
Re: lamotta v duran at welter
LaMotta may have fought welterweights but he could never make welterweight. Maybe when was amateur then I would take Duran

Er, you do know that welterweight is lighter than middleweight, right? Welterweight 147lb, Middleweight 160lb. LaMotta was only 5'8", but he was a very heavily built, muscular guy. The lightest he ever weighed in the ring was 154.5lb, and he did fight as heavy as 175lb. Perhaps on the night he made 154lb he could have drained to 147lb with a day-before weigh in, but he would have been very dehydrated and would surely be dominated by Duran.stoppageking wrote:what are you talking about? lamotta was world middleweight champ so he would have no trouble at welterjaclem2 wrote:..at 147 pounds jake would be in a hospital bed with tubes sticking out of his body, so it's unlikely he'd be released to fight duran.
Make the fight at 154lb then it's interesting. Make it at 160lb and I make LaMotta the heavy favourite.
Re: lamotta v duran at welter
more fiber.
Re: lamotta v duran at welter
Stop mis-spelling 'Fibre' :x
Re: lamotta v duran at welter
Buzz is an American. We Americans correctly spell fiber as "fiber." And we do not misspell "misspelling" by adding a hyphen.
But back to the topic at hand: As I recall, LaMotta boxed amateur as a light-heavyweight and trained down to middleweight in his pro career. Trying to make 147 would have put Jake in an intensive care facility.

Re: lamotta v duran at welter
LaMotta was a middleweight almost his whole career. He never fought at welterweight. AT middleweight, I pick Jake, at 147, I pick Duran.

Duran by decapitation.

Duran would win via UD.
I think Duran would be too relentless for Lamotta. Although Duran would pepper Lamotta with bombs throughout the fight, Lamotta wouldn't fall.
