clev round 9 or 10
clev round 9 or 10
cleverly's victory came after the bell had sounded to signal the end of round 9, therefore surely his victory has to be classed as round 10, as im sure it was anounced. can somebody correct me if im wrong. i ask the question as the robbing little b*stards that are william hill are not paying out on my £5 quid bet on him winning in round 10. ![[icon_witsend.gif] :witzend:](./images/smilies/icon_witsend.gif)
Re: clev round 9 or 10
If round 10 did not start then the official result is round 9.
Re: clev round 9 or 10
This is correct, the result will be "retired at the end of round 9", so it's not them robbing you it's you trying to rob themAsterix wrote:If round 10 did not start then the official result is round 9.
Re: clev round 9 or 10
Pretty sure it was announced as round 10 and the bell for round 10 I think had gone before the retirement

The bell went right as the ref waved the fight off. Happily for me Betfred's rules state that if the fighter doesnt answer the bell then the round previous is the one they pay out on regardless of the 'official' decision, which means I got a nice little 20 to 1 winner. Happy days.

The tenth IMO, the bell rang and he was off his stool when the ref waved it off, he didn't fail to answer the bell which would have been settled as the 9th if he had.
I would contact IBAS about it or at least email the bookies first telling them your intentions which sometimes forces thier hand.

The bell for the 10th was sounding and the 10th round being announced as the referee waved his arms and signalled the end of the fight. I would consider that as a 10th round win.llamalew wrote:cleverly's victory came after the bell had sounded to signal the end of round 9, therefore surely his victory has to be classed as round 10, as im sure it was anounced. can somebody correct me if im wrong. i ask the question as the robbing little b*stards that are william hill are not paying out on my £5 quid bet on him winning in round 10.
But i see they have it listed on here as a RTD 9.
I feel for you mate, its w*nk if they don't pay. Try and email them explaining the bell for the 10th had rung and the 10th round announced when it was called off. Maybe they will play nice and do the decent thing. If they don't all you can do is never bet with them again.....and chuck half a brick through your local Hill's window as way of revenge

Retired? He wasn't retired was he.... the ref stopped it.
It was announced as 2 seconds into round 10.

Re: clev round 9 or 10
End of 9, no question!
I had a little wager on round 9 and checked my accont soon after the fight, only to find that they (Bet365) had deemed my bet as 'down'. I logged in the next day and they had changed it. I also had Brook to stop Jennings in the 5th which was the same scenario.
Ker-ching!

Yeah indeed the referee was the one who called it off when the bell for 10 was ringing. But its listed on here as RTD 9 for some reason.stujones wrote:Retired? He wasn't retired was he.... the ref stopped it.
It was announced as 2 seconds into round 10.
Just watched the video and it was officially announced as "at the start of round 10"....for me thats a round 10 stoppage.
I think Hills are trying to pull a fast one.
Re: clev round 9 or 10
I never agreed with it, but I thought it was kind of refreshing that it was called a 10th round stoppage - reminded me of the old days - fights were always called like that.

Re: clev round 9 or 10
I've been trying to find the official result on the WBO's website but had no luck.
I'd at least contact Billy Hill and ask them if they use any official information to base their result on. If it's just their opinion that it was classed as the 9th then you might have a chance.
Just make sure they don't tell Bet365

Re: clev round 9 or 10
cheers for your posts guys, i have emailed will hill clearly stating the bet in question and the stupid tw*ts reaplied saying that 3 of my sevenfold accumalator went down so they wont be paying it, think they are just trying to act dull, as ive quoted the bet referance number and everything. was definately announced as round ten on the night as i was there. they probably had less to pay out on round 9 imo
Re: clev round 9 or 10
