I was wondering if something can be added about the fact that score-cards have been changed during Sjauw's fight against Holewyne. This made the fight more than controversial. The score-cards had been visibly interchanged after the fight Holewyne vs Sjauw. This has never been done before and was unheard of. More information under:

The WIBF refused to take action because the promoter (Holewyne's promoter) threathened to go to court against the WIBF if the results were to be reversed. When Sjauw said she would do the same, the reply of the WIBF was that she wouldn't have the money for it. An outrage!
This is what one website wrote about the fight:
On April 21, 2001 at Chinook Winds Casino and Convention Center, Lincoln City, Oregon, WIBF Intercontinental Junior Welterweight champion Lisa Holewyne (5'8", 141¾ lbs) of Crawford, Texas won a controversial ten-round unanimous decision over Marischa (141¾ lbs) to take the vacant WIBF Welterweight title. The scorecards were 99-93,99-94,97-94 for Holewyne but Sjauw controlled the bout according to many ringside observers. There was also a flap over irregularities on the scorecards, on which the boxer's names and corners had been visibly interchanged. Holewyne moved to 13-7-1 (5 KO's) with the controversial win. This result was protested by Sjauw's team because of the scorecard irregularities.
The scoring was right, but it was scored for the wrong fighter. Franco Fontanero of fwoboxing made pictures of the cards and had the Nevada State AThletic Commission look at it. They said it's an absolute no-no. Unfortunately for Sjauw, the fight took place on an Indian Reservation in Oregon. So there was nothing that could be done. Pictures of the cards available through http://www.fscclub.com/eyewitness/holewynesjauw.shtml.

Naaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa....not related. :P Just married. Doesn't matter. I don't complain about the other "controversial" on her record, but fair is fair on this one. lolDutch Windmill wrote:You wouldn't be related to Mrs. Sjauw in any way, now would ya?![]()
I heard of this before, gonna do some more research.
