Hartlepool's Michael Hunter has given up his WBF super bantamweight title - so that he can have a crack at the British crown.
Unbeaten Hunter has informed the Boxing Board of his decision and is hoping to be matched with the British and Commonwealth champion Esham Pickering.
Hunter is determined to follow the example of his big mate Kevin Bennett, who won the Commonwealth lightweight belt last weekend.
