Anyone here ever been a fight judge or know anyone who is?
I am writing an article on the dissapearance of even rounds from scorecards, and wondered if anyone here has anything they would like to contribute, if they have any experience in that direction of course.

I know that some research into judges' scoring would, I'm sure, be very revealing indeed. Can you imagine if judges' records were collated like fighters' records (we could call it JudgeRec)! Their would be some very dodgy judges exposed. too true.
Indeed, apparently all of the states in America, or at least the Nevada state athletic commission keeps tabs on the scoring records of judges.
It's such an arcane and mysterious error, how many people here can claim they know how to become a judge, what is involved in the learning process, who appoints them and how, and when?
I certainly don't, and I cannot even find any guidelines anywhere that give the official line on how to judge a round, it really is ridiculous.
Even well known journalists I have spoken to have just shaken their heads with a resigned air, when I asked them what they knew on the subject.
Short of becoming a boxing judge (which is apparently near on impossible for major fights) there seems to be no way to find out.
Perhaps some investigation is due....
