Slight glitch @ weigh-in yesterday.
Some found themselves overweight, so they trotted off to sauna etc, only to find the scales were 1.4kgs out

They could have saved themselves all the trouble by borrowing Mundine's bathroom scales, recently used at his dubious weigh-ins.

I have just watched a few fights from today.....now this is a question, not a statement :

Are the scores a lot lower than we are used to at major amatuer events, or are they on the mark??

Unless you land a real good head shot you dont seem to be getting rewarded. I dont think anyone has been ripped off to the point of losing a fight but there has been some big body blows missed by the judges...

It is a weird system. There was a fight with a lot of punches thrown and landed yesterday. It wound up with one fighter winning 5-2. Five punches to two punches. Jose Feliciano may have been a judge.

England will easily win more boxing golds than Aussie, but The Aussies will certainly win more overall in the all games events. I remember at one of the commonwealth games (don't recall which year) NSW actually got more medals than England.

your probably right mate, but aus always build up a healthy lead thru swimming and then everyone catches them up when the swimming finishes. like at beijing, england ended up with 5 or 6 more golds than oz overall.

Beijing was the olympics so the team was Great Britain, in the commonwealth all the home nations are seperate. The aussies will get more golds than just purely england. I think the aussies aren't doing aswell as usual in the pool though (or maybe everyone else is doing better.) the aussie middleweight looked class today (or yesterday for you)

I think I'm farked if we are betting on boxing......And boys don't forget the cycling and team sports like Hockey,Basketball, netball and pretty much nearly evrey other team sport, and apparently a pole vault world champ, Oh and we kick ass at shooting as well. Shitt boys we just kick the commonwealths ass when it comes to atheletes!!! GB have prepared well for the 2012 Olympics and they did finally beat Australia at the last Olympics and pretty sure it was the first time Australia wasn't in the top 5.

Hooper looked good. Apparently the Comm games are just as hard in the middleweight class as the Olympics or world am championship when the number 1 fighter in the world is from India???????????????

Yid what nationality are you, you live in NZ but don't claim to be NZ, are you an Aussie or Brit?

I wonder why haroon Khan wasn't selected for England. I also wonder why they are calling him haroon iqbal.
the fact that he chose to represent Pakistan when missing an England call up will unfortunately have an effect on his popularity in the pro ranks.

I'm not saying it should but that's the way it is.

I know, i was going to post this, he ain't too bad either, has a very decent punch as well. Plans to go pro after the asian cup later this year, with all due respect, he's probably better off in the asian cup as a flyweight as opposed to being a Flyweight in europe, but fark it's going to hurt him for PPV numbers down the track in England,

Its a major fornicate Up by the English team. That kid has serious potential and im sure will win Gold.

Maybe there is a bit of contreversy in the move. Many Brits would pay big money to see him lose. Which could make him a very rich man.
