No offence to Lo Porto, but it does not look good for Daniel. If he has a future in boxing, that is one fight he should have won.

Good to see my boy Gunner do well also, havent heard any reports on the fight but he scored the Draw with Letieza which most likely suggests it was a close fight in Gunners favour!!!

Be interesting to see the scores. Ben K or Brad should have them up soon. It's only 7.17am in Perth

I don't think they give bad decisions in WA mate, otherwise we would be reading Dawson UD over Loporto.

I have to say, it's a surprise, but I'm not shocked, This is a result of inactivity, and poor fight selection over the years for Dawson.

Well done to Lo porto.

It was a great night of Boxing, Loporto fought really well in a tough contest. He was a bit busier than Dawson and for the mopst part controlled the tempo of the fight.

McGowan looked really impressive against Scragg who had been in with better opposition. Yet Erin stepped up and really controlled the fight.
Andy Green looked good in stopping Bond.

Robbie Bryant hit Jeremy Allan with one of the cleanest short rights to Knock him down, To Allan's credit he got up and made the count but the fight was halted shortly after by Gary Ingraham with a good stoppage.
Bryant looked impressive and is moving up towards an Aus title crack.

The Show will be televised on Foxtel in the next few weeks. It will be on channel 183 Aurora on a Monday night apparently.

I think Sharon Anyos was our first female titleholder, 'Dawg. Originally a Melbourne girl but moved up your way before winning a WBC world title on her own promotion on the Gold Coast.

To be honest, I'm wishing I had said something earlier, but LoPorto's win over Dawson doesn't actually surprise me that much. I was favouring Dawson, but no more than 60:40. I've always thought that Dawson and Bryant were at a similar level, though it seems that Robbie did better against Frank than Daniel did (albeit over six rounds).

Bryant's knockout of Allan surprises me more - I really thought that this would be a clear decision win for Robbie, especially considering Allan went the (8 round) distance with Rob Medley. This is Bryant's second straight KO win at middleweight and it makes me wonder whether he will decide to stay there. I've said before and I still believe that Robbie is a natural light middleweight (especially when most top middleweights these days are around 6ft and rehydrate to 170lb +), and would be most competitive against top opposition at that weight.

Overall it sounds like it was a great card - but I don't have Foxtel! If anyone else sees or has seen the fights and would like to share their impressions, it would be appreciated.

Yep, great bird. When Lovemore was training her I actually trained at the same gym for a while. I'm pretty sure that makes us best mates.

Really, having followed both guys' boxing careers and Daniel's kickboxing career, I don't see this as 'one fight Daniel should have won', I picked frank to win this, he likes long distance fights and doesn't fade in the later rounds, in fact seems to get stronger. His chin is unquestionable and he often enters the ring as the underdog and rises to the occasion and improves with every fight.
Daniel, whilst being a true warrior and enjoyable to watch, hasn't beaten a decent opponent for three years and seems to have plateaued, instead of improved, in the last 4-5 years.
I don't see this as an upset, nor a blemish on Daniel's record, for some time I feel Daniel has been slightly over rated and Frank has been way under rated.
Frank's 32 now, and so is Daniel, it'll be interesting to see where to now for the both of them.

Mate very well said.

I looked forward to Dawsons fights as much as Greens, but he's fought no one in years besides the 3 loss's on his record, the only reason he's lost, poor fight selection, poor prep, and i trully believe he can dig himself out of this.

Lo porto is a very exciting fighter to watch, and as i stated earlier in the thread, it's not an upset, it's a bit of a surprise, but certainly not an upset, as LoPorto hasn't fought imports to build his record, he's fought in the trenches early in his career and it's payed of for him.

Dawson appeared caught between styles which is a worry to me. He seemed to want to show off his new found boxing ability instead of going to war with LoPorto. That probably sounds like awinning strategy but when he got tagged a few times he seemed to be hesitatnt to do either (box or brawl). My personal opinion is you cant change a guy such as Daniel who has been fighting so long. You can improve what he has, but dont change his style. Well done Frank, great fight. I dont think this is the end for Daniel but he needs to get nback in the ring soon.
