Post by BillyTKid »

Bravely myself and some mates have booked flights and accomodation. Does anybody know when tickets will become available? The Hennessy Sports website is crap.

Having just had a completely pointless weekend in Monaco, I have to say, you must be deranged. Hey, good luck though, hope it goes ahead :TU:

If Jon Shirow hasn't given up and gone home (and with Hennesey who could blame him), his Queensbury agency are likely to get an allocation

I have had to pay £250.00 to change my flights over to Helsinki, £300.00 for the tickets still hasn't been paid back and you don't even get a email back from Hennessey sports to say when stuffs going on sale, to try to save a few save a few quid, on even more flights and changes.

I have finally been sent the ticket prices. I'll update my website, set up online sales and post the seating plan and prices on my Froch v Abraham thread tonight. They're going on general sale on Wednesday so i can only guarantee presales until Tuesday night. I've got to guarantee my allocation so i'll be keeping in small initially as there are a lot of twice bitten fans who i suspect will be giving this a miss.

The last topic on Froch didn't clear up whether or not the rumours of a problem between him and Hennessey were true. I'd be very careful about this fight. I don't feel confident it will go ahead. I suppose I won't until it happens, if it does.

Yeah, once bitten, twice shy and all that. At least we didn't HAVE to watch Chag surrender meekly.

We have paid £143 for direct flights with British Airways out on Friday back Sunday and 84 euros per room per night for 5* Hilton......so all pretty reasonable. Although I have heard the beer is going to be expensive.

Beer goes roughly 5 GBP for a pint in Helsinki. You can find local pisswater clearly cheaper in low-class bars, but not imported brands nor tastier local micro-brewery stuff.

OK, I'm very picky about beers. Main Finnish brands are just slightly worse than any multi-national lager junk.

It sometimes pays to pay more for an airline like BA where they won't charge you more than the flight cost you to change name/destination etc.

My brother booked a flight for me to Spain and for some reason his name showed on the ticket despite putting in my passport details. It cost him £150 to change it to my name. It would have been cheaper to buy a 2nd ticket.

I hate the "cheap" airlines, they're a pain and even if you try and travel clever and just take hold baggage they still find a way to make things more expensive for you.

The return flight from Spain was 90 minutes late and cost me £60 for a taxi home.

Yep, they are sh1tbags. They sell non-refundable fares. Yet they can't legally keep one aspect of the fare back. So what do they do? Make the admin fee more than this will ever be.

I'm proud to say last time I went on one (bmibaby) I managed to avoid every little add on. But the published fares are almost always a nonsense when you get to the checkout.

I didn`t HAVE to watch Chag take his beating, but I did. Wasn`t much of a fight to be honest and the undercard was pants.

Top weekend otherwise though.

One thing you can say for Hatton was he never messed his fans about with dates and stuff for his fights. Once booked I can't actually remember if he ever pulled out of any big fights?

We had a top weekend, just not in Germany!

At least they allowed us a refund on the fight ticket (and hotel, and train), I'd have been really fed-up to have to go watch the Chag fight.
