Boxing matches will be held at the Talkatora Indoor Stadium. This sporting complex has a capacity to accommodate 3035 spectators. There are 4 warm up arenas and one competition arena.
The Talkatora Indoor Stadium is at a distance of 11 km from the Commonwealth Games Village. If you are planning to visit this stadium, you can avail the Delhi Metro, the nearest metro station being Rama Krishna Ashram Marg at Patel Chowk.

Boxing is a game in which 2 individuals having the same weight take on each other. Although this game may lead to injuries, there are certain rules that need to be followed. Each round is played at intervals of 3 minutes. This is done to relieve the players of the stress and to give some rest to the players.
However, it is a very harmless game if it is played according to the rules. Players who try to hurt the opponents are usually given warning. And sometimes they are disqualified too. Boxing was included in the Commonwealth Games way back in 1930. Boxing is essentially a men-centric game and 2010 Commonwealth Games, boxing is going to be an all men show.

In addition to watching the boxing competition, don’t forget to watch the opening and the closing ceremonies. Both these ceremonies are expected to be a great affair, where personalities from the film world, sports world will make their rounds to the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, the venue for both these ceremonies. The ceremonial flag parade is also an event to watch.

The scoring was abysmal. I watched a few of the final's and all they did was annoy me. The Indian guy who won at Heavyweight seemed to get points for just being there wheras the guy he was against landed and didn't score. I thought the same with Agogo against in his Middleweight final no way that fight was as wide as that.

It's that kind of political scoring crap that is killing amateur boxing. Look at any world championship, the home country always gets at least one gold medal wether they deserved it or not.
