Some Positive Commonwealth Boxing - Callum Johnson

Post by reggaereggae »

Callum Johnson of Scotland - Just watching the final and also caught another of his fights. He lloks really strong, with a good dig and a very pro style.

I had never heard of him; but I really like his prospects.

I also enjoyed the Callum Smith final - that was exciting. His opponent won (can't remember his name), but it was a quality scrap

Callum is a class act, will be a superb pro. He has bags of amature experiance and figthing for scotland he openly admits was his best decesion he made as its gave him loads of world wide amature experiance. I thought the smith boy was ul today aswell he will be another very good pro

Today was the first time I'd seen Johnson box and I was very impressed. He was so strong and was doing some damage up close.

On that fight's evidence, it's hard to believe McCarthy beat him earlier in the year.

he gave sam webb a hiding at 71kg when he was 19 quite shocked he has left it so long to turn over :!:

Thought Callum Johnson looked brilliant throughout, never looked close to losing. Was so strong and threw some lovely powerful shots :TU:
Thought Tom Stalker was one of, if not the boxer of the tournament and also would like to congratulate my youngest brother Callum on a great tournament, so proud of him

Yeah, so proud of him mate, he had a lot of extra pressure on his young shoulders going into the games knowing two of his elder brothers got the final....added to that it was his first major tournament and it was definitely a success!

He boxed well, you must of been nervous watching his semi with 5 seconds to go and it being equal :o. I never caught the final, how did he look? And as for Johnston he'll do very well as a pro IMO
