Comes out in December apparently.
Re: Mickey ward film trailer
Am almost finished his book, have 40 or so pages left - a tremendously enjoyable read so can't wait for the filum.
Re: Mickey ward film trailer
After watching the trailer I think I'd rather just read the book. What's it called?
Re: Mickey ward film trailer
Book is good and not enough decent boxing films about so welcome any being made especially about such a gritty and decent fighter!!

I was at the Contender finale in Boston in 2007, got a tap on my shoulder and a little dig to the kidney - turns round and it's a little gingerish fella talking Scouse to me asking me for a fight!
Took me a few seconds to realise it was Mickey Ward and what a fella he was. Asking me about Jimmy Neary all the time, talking boxing and trying to get me on the Guiness
He obviously only knew who I was through the Contender and he'd probably never seen me fight but it was great of him to just come over. That's how humble he is though.
I stayed on the diet coke and had a few with him, brilliant company. Great fighter and better fella

Re: Mickey ward film trailer
I think the most dissapointed I've ever been after watching a fight is when he beat Jimmy. I was absolutely gutted.Smigga wrote:I was at the Contender finale in Boston in 2007, got a tap on my shoulder and a little dig to the kidney - turns round and it's a little gingerish fella talking Scouse to me asking me for a fight!

Can't wait for the film, although I have no idea why they are ending with the Neary fight rather than the Gatti fight. I hope they don't portray that as Ward finally winning a legit World Championship.
Mark Walhberg seems a good choice though, looks as though he likes and appreciates his boxing.
