Worse card ever for a Fox show this Thursday.

Post by Hounddawg »

Whats left to say, absolute garbage i wouldn't watch this shitt if you payed me, worse Fox card in recent and distant memory.....sorry very negative, but not 1 thread was started after the last Fox show, which IMO was very ordinary, but it makes this card look like a PPV. Why slip Fox, theres no major sports competing and rather than striking while the irons hot, you let this monstrosity to take place.........yeah great PR, this will lure people to the sport.

For the record, it's a card like most here and around the world, but no one with a decent brain would LET THIS CARD GO TO A NATIONAL AUDIENCE.......

Thankyou Dan H, these are the cards where the casual fan will have a peek......why?.. no other sports to compete, what does Fox and promoter think will happen here? Are we going to see a 15 minute monologue with Angelo Hyder telling us how evenly matched these fight are, and that people are always asking about his Nitro shows, so he's just given the fans what they want.

Love his work, but these Nitro cards are bullshitt, boring and very uneventful, fark with all the major sports gone i expect that Fox would at least give it a running start to allow boxing to creep back to mainstream, or have all tv networks decided finally that Boxing is a tier 2 sport like Waterskiiing or darts?

agreed, i may record it to have a look the next day.
get some names in there that might spark some attention from the casual fan and get more ppl into the sport.
on a bit of a side note, has rabah kinda given up on himself, or is he working on being active for a bit before moving up again?
ive only seen him fight a couple of times and liked watching the guy, it seems a bit of a waste to see him on shows like this, against opponents like this?????

Ok so i maybe a little biased but the best fight will be Tillman VS Funkai!!

Took the fight on 2 days notice but Clarence is ready to throw down and make a name for himself on a TV show in aussie!!! Hopefully we can get past Sosaia then move onto Kirby, Wilson and the rest!

i believe these nitro shows should be dedicated purely to young up and comers that we don't usually get the opportunity to see on bigger cards. the 4 and 6 round formats would suit and I hope that we as boxing supporters would see it as such rather than want "big names" to satisfy our appetite for great fights for free. It would give the young blokes a bit of exposure and who knows where it would lead them to?? just my two bobs worth fellas.... :box:

Is Tillman definitely fighting? The day before the fight Funaki is down to fight Willie Felipe.

Yes we where, it is an ordinary promotion. Hmmmm. This is the sort of SHIT that has boxing, both locally and globally, in the trouble. I urge all boxing fans to boycott this disgrace, please.
Here's a tip, if the fights are so obviously one sided then make a statement, instead of watching a night of short miss matches, find one of these new breed bookies to take your bets, place a wager on the obvious winners, go out and enjoy yourselves then collect your winnings in the morning. Soon no one will sponsor such crap because no one is watching, no bookie will cover bets on them as the pro wrestling would be more of a safe bet and no boxer would want to fight on these bullshit shows because there would be no money in them.

A pretty lop-sided card, whose only real value is to give fighters an easy opportunity to boost up the number of "W"s on their record.

Although it is a chance for the lesser lights to get a bit of TV exposure, there is the potential for bad losses and/or
miss-matches to be on show, and the end result is more fodder for the media to put the boot into the sport!

You really gotta question the mindset of some people. Hoskings has just suffered a huge cut and now wont be able to perform on the Green Flores card. Some time ago one of the Wills boys got ko'd a couple of weeks prior to a Green card. Why would managers and trainers allow their fighters to fight on what is really a meaningless card so close to what would have been the chance to get great exposure and the experience of performing in front of a large crowd.

So much for Big Clarence. Funiaki knocked him down three times in the second round, although the second knockdown looked like Clarence collapsed under his own weight. If he wants a future in the sport Clarence is going to have to lose those love handles. 136 kilos? Struth!

Your joking right? 3 knockdowns and you think Tillman's ready? Sosaias last fight was nearly 1.5 years ago! Tillmans 2 months ago!

Tillman and Sosaia are fat and overweight! they both were buggered by the end of the first...Tillman is no where near ready for TV in Aussie.

Heavyweights in general need to get their sh*t together because they're embarrassing the sport. Overweight, unfit with mediocre skills. Also Angelo Hyder is screwing & contributing to the industry downfall with rubbish cards like tonight...

The card started a bit late and finished early before 10pm, forcing Fox to put in a filler program.

The Ben Rabah versus Weriu was a total mismatch and an embarrassment with Weriu giving up in less than a round. Time for Ben Rabah to step up big time as he has a lot of class and not to be matched knocking around easybeats.

As for the Funaki versus Tillman epic, after one minute in the first round both men's condition started to wane and both hung on to see out the round. Clarence was a mass of jelly and Funaki's shorts were way too small looking like a pair of Ruggers from Lowes. But things hotted up in round 2, with both men going hard (knowing that 6 rounds was far too much) till Tillman went down and Funaki was lucky not to be disqualified for hitting Clarence whilst he was on his knees. Funaki poured on the pressure and a puffing quivering Tillman was sat down twice more, putting an end to a somewhat colourful but short of skill fight.

Angelo please buy Funaki a decent pair of boxing shorts for his next outing and send Clarence off to Jenny Craig!

Bit hard for Funiaki to see past Tillman's gut to see where his knees were.

Tell the Poms. They had a heavyweight "tournament" with regional champions fighting 3 rounders.

Cedric Kushner runs similar programs in the States, calling them "Thunderbox" tournaments. I guess nobody ever told Cedric what a "thunderbox " was in the days before proper sewerage.
