I am researching family history and have a copy of my Grandfather's British Board of Boxing Control's contract to act as manager to Billy Gardner of Sittingbourne, Kent.
Billy Gardner, I understand, had at least twenty paid bouts in the 1930's and featured on boxing handbills of the time. I know that there were boxing gyms at Sittingbourne and local bouts would take place at the Cassino Rooms in Rochester, Kent
Please be kind enough to advise me of where I may find out more about this boxer. I am hoping that contemporary records may be archived at a public resource and that it is possible to locate the handbills - but I do not know how to proceed
I would be grateful for any advice or guidance you may be able to give me in relation to my research
Thank you very much
David
