Harrisons Trainer was an idiot!!!

Post by Finn »

Harrisons only chance was to go out all guns blazing pure and simple.

So his trainer who was supposed to have been an expert devises the briliant tactic of telling Harrison to jab it out for the first half of the fight and then pressure him in the second half.

Did you hear the nonsense he was telling harrison in the corner?

You've got to feel sorry for the guy, he obviously thought haye was holding back away from his left and out of range from his jab due to fear rather than the fact he'd bet on himself in the 3rd.

As soon as haye went in for the kill Harrison tried throwing the left and Hayes right was faster and harder. We all knew that would be the case.

Admittedly Harrison was well well out of his league and he was clearly terrified but i think this peformance will have broken him as a person, im just glad he has his family to fall back on now

His corner should have been telling him to just go all out from the start - if for anything just to win some respect from the fans.

All the best to Harrison for the future with whatever he does next!!!!

i disagree his corner have to take a big portion of the blame for that fight they come up with the tactics. He was massively outclassed, haye was far too quick for him, harrison even pretty much said in his interview that he wanted to throw the jab but there just wasnt a target for him to hit.

Why would his team even bother with tactics for 12 rounds it was an all or nothing fight.

Once you have a game plan and then find it isnt in the slightest bit effective then you're buggered especially if you're out classed and out gunned.

I doubt it very much, wlad and witali have the same stupid "lets hold the guy off with the jab" mentality that didnt work in this fight. The only thing is now they will know that that doesnt work and may change their tactics.

Aud's speeches in the buildup seemed to be a combination of whistling in the dark and total delusion.

The most telling thing said for me was when Aud said something about Haye not being able to hurt him in sparring. And Haye said "That's because you were cowering in the corner all the time. You wouldn't fight at all."

i thought it was funny when haye said audley has to go back to the ams in 97 to see a weakness & that he only needed to look at his last fight

there is a big difference between an audley harrison jab and a wladimir klitschko jab.

a jab isnt any use when hayes in range. i'd bet 9 times out of ten he will get past that jab.

you clearly dont know boxing the jab is the most important punch.

even a fighter of tyson's stature would slip jab's & throw his own to set up onslaught's.

harrison was pawing out just to make sure HE was safe.

Im more than lost on what you're talking about - if anything you're aiding my point by mentioning how tyson used to get straight past the jab. Small, fast explosive and powerful fighters dont stand about getting plastered by the jab all night.

They slip into range and land bombs, it worked for tyson and it works for haye. Have you actually seen a heavyweight put the jab to use effectively against haye yet?

Oh yeah good example - not only did the guy get a completed hiding but ruiz doesnt even have a jab. Are you deliberatley trying to prove my point for me.

Jabs work on the basis that they are usually faster than your opponet. If that isnt the case then they are ineffective. The klits have two punches in their arsenal neither of which are any use at close range, the main reason the spend half the night cuddling the opposition.

Not only that but in hayes last 3 fights he's had probably less than 10 punches land on him. So i'd say he was pretty hard to hit.

if chagaev couldnt get inside wlad's jab then haye has no chance. your going on like haye is an inside fighter. haye spends alot of time outside and thats where wlad will punish him.

i think tyson's analysis on haye was spot on. the klits have too much consistency unlike fraudley.

good luck to haye he goes for it :!:

Tyson hardly used a long range jab, thats like saying hatton used to get in close and set em up with his jab. Throwing the lead hand with a short blow when up close may qualify as a jab, but in reality tysons jab and the klits jab are nothing alike.

In fact if you go and watch some of his fights you'll se he sets his hayemaker up with a jab nearly all the time ie 1st knock down in the ruiz fight and finishing combination in the barrett fight.

If you think chageav has hayes speed then you should just pack up and go and watch the UFC mate. Haye doesnt spend alot of time fighting on the outside at all, he stays out of range darts in lands and if they're still standing darts back out of range again. And 90% of his knock downs at heavy weight have been due to inside/close range fighting (inside the range of a jab or overhand right).
