Roberto Cammarelle
Something that has always intrigued is why has Roberto Cammarelle the Italian Super Heavyweight Gold Medalist in Beijing who famously decked Britain's David Price has never turned professional? why has no one signed him up for the paid ranks or is he content as an Amateur so he can still serve in the Italian State Police.

Re: Roberto Cammarelle
If I remember correctly, he said he has no interest in turning pro. He's happy being an amateur and his family comes from a wealthy family. The state give him a great salary and much time to train and they have a good pension. He is an amateur because he enjoys boxing and isn't motivated by money at all. Also, I read somewhere that is "police" job is really not what we would characterize as law enforcement in the US or anywhere else for that matter. He's got a really nice setup.IRLangmaid25 wrote:Something that has always intrigued is why has Roberto Cammarelle the Italian Super Heavyweight Gold Medalist in Beijing who famously decked Britain's David Price has never turned professional? why has no one signed him up for the paid ranks or is he content as an Amateur so he can still serve in the Italian State Police.
