Danny Green's legend grows
I knew he was "the cruiserweight champion of the world". I knew he was a "three weight world champion". But I didn't realise until yesterday that he was the undisputed IBO champion. Wow.
Re: Danny Green's legend grows
It's all a major joke innit?

Re: Danny Green's legend grows
Innit eh
Comn Ollie, i agree, however they are trying to restore his credability, relax.... a lot of people have said the same thing about other champions in the past, when in fact there was no truth to the matter. Theres no educating, we're all thinking the same thing.
What did you think of the fight?

Re: Danny Green's legend grows
I know minor titles are presented as "world championships" everywhere, but I've never heard of an "undisputed" portion of a title before!
I understand the IBO (undisputed or otherwise!) is a means to an end and plenty of other boxers had runs with minor titles before (most [in]famously Ricky Hatton and his fifteen WBU defences) but what I worry about with Danny is that he (and the wider Australian general public) are going to be content with that and just play it out to the end of his career. That would be a pity because he is capable of going for another major world title.
On that note, what did I think of the fight? I thought it was a very good effort from both men and an excellent win for Danny. Nobody (outside of the Current Scene, anyway!) can now say he isn't among the world's best, and he needed that to prove himself because, rightly or wrongly, doubts have persisted because of criticisms over his last three fights.
