I can remember him dressed up as the world's ugliest fairy doing the Insulwood insulation batts ad years ago.
Paul Hogan had his show on channel 9 at the time. Hoges had been playing a joke on Strop about ghosts or something. At the end of it Hoges said to Strop "Struth! You'll be believing in fairies next!" Gus's gravelly voice came from the ceiling saying "There ain't a better batt" and they both ran out of the house.
God love you Gus. You will be missed.
