I came across this short article from JET May.10.1962.
pp 58-59.
Greer claims he fought Max Baer in the mid 1930's.
(actually it was just an exhibition April.4.1933 at Denver Colorado,
Greer was knocked out in the second round by Baer)
Did Sam Greer fight professionally under an alias?

Greer was a professional heavyweight who fought out of Pueblo, Colorado.

My notes show that the Colorado Commission reinstated Greer after a suspension on Dec 31, 1932 -- so indeed he was fighting at that time. And, obviously, he fought the exh with Baer.
