scorecard - khan vs maidana

Post by Quixall »

just watched the khan - maidana fight on you tube

I didnt get a chance to see it live or and replays of the fight

Just wondered how people scored the fight ? Jim watts card seemed to be way out !!

I got the fight at 114-112 which includes the point deduction for maidana

Here is my round by round scores, but doesnt include the points deduction

1. 10 - 8

2. 10 - 9

3. 9 - 10

4. 10 - 9

5. 10 - 9

6. 9 - 10

7. 9 - 10

8. 10 - 9

9. 10 - 9

10. 9 - 10

11. 9 - 10

12. 9 - 10

I thought khan did well, but I dont think it answers any questions over his chin. A fighter with less power than maidana could put khan in more trouble, because its more about the timing, speed and angle of a punch. Amir showed great heart, but maidana should have finished him quite easily in that 10th round and wasn't clinical or patient enough.

I think khan will have too much for Bradley and Alexander, though they will be tough fights.

Looking forward to khan fighting at welterweight !!!!

Well done amir

What did Watt have it? Both times I watched it I had it 114-111 or 7-5 for Khan. After the first two rounds I thought it was an even fight. Watching it a second time made me realise how poor Khan's defence was in close. He got hit with the uppercut over and over. Showed tons of heart, speed, and an improved chin though. I wonder why he didn't keep up a regular body attack, he had Maidana in some serious pain with the shots downstairs.

1. 10-8 Khan
2. 10-9 Khan
3. 10-9 Maidana
4. 10-9 Khan
5. 10-8 Khan
6. 10-9 Maidana
7. 10-9 Maidana
8. 10-9 Khan
9. 10-9 Khan
10. 10-8 Maidana (how can you not have this round 10-8?)
11. 10-9 Khan
12. 10-9 Maidana

Well, I only had round 10 as a 10 - 9 because amir didnt go down !!

Maybe I should have, but its all opinions I guess

Agree about khan not keeping up the body attacks !!

Good learning fight for khan and that was a proper introduction to the world class scene, because its by far his toughest fight and best opponent to date.

Great fight though !!!!

How did Watt have it? I think scores in the 115-110 to 113-112 Khan range are fair.

Jim watt scored the fight 116-110 which I thought was way out !!

I had it 114-112 to Amir Khan on my card when I watched on Youtube and there times I felt that Maidana stole rounds off Khan but I do agree that Jim Watt's card of 116-110 was a bit one sided

I had it 114-113 Khan. Some swing rounds though, Watt didn't score the 10th round 10-8 did he? It was a clear 10-8!
