Biggest British fights at each weight - by Boxrec Ratings

Post by m1kee50 »

Note: I'm leaving out people such as Haye and Froch as they hold World titles and don't really have anyone from Britain legitimately knocking on their door... feel free to argue that point :D

Do you feel these are the biggest fights for each weight?

Heavyweight:
Chisora vs Tyson Fury, or if you consider Chisora out of consideration then its Fury vs Sexton.

Cruiser:
Shockingly, its an Afolabi - Macca rematch. For those of us who can't stomach the idea of watching Enzo get twatted any more than he already has been, the next man is Herbie Hide.

Light-Heavy:
Considering Cleverley to have escaped over the event horizon that is British boxing, the next fight is Bellew-McIntosh.

Super-Middle:
Do I need to say it? Its Magee - DeGale, or if Magee is beyond the domestic scene (not that he's busy) then its DeGale vs Groves. Surprisingly.

Middle:
Barker - Macklin, although Craig McEwan, the expat Scotsman, lurks at 3rd, some way off the ratings of the top two but still some way ahead of #4.

Light-Middle:
Rhodes vs Sam Webb, or Webb vs Pryce (Small sits inbetween those two, but is apparently retired)

Welter:
Matthew Hatton vs Kell Brook. My favourite fight on this list.

Light-Welter:
Paul McCloskey vs Lenny Daws

Lightweight:
John Murray vs Kevin Mitchell, Gavin Rees isn’t too far behind Mitchell according to the ratings.

Super-Feather
Steven Foster vs Anthony Crolla, or Crolla vs Liam Walsh… for what it’s worth.

Feather:
John Simpson vs Martin Lindsay rematch, or Simpson vs Stephen Smith

Super-Bantam:
Munroe vs Jason Booth

Bantam:
Stuart Hall vs Jamie McDonnell
Super-Fly:
Broadhurst vs Bell

Fly:
Edwards vs Edwards
