Years after his retirement Foreman would say Cooney hit him the hardest of any opponent he ever faced, remarkable considering Lyle was really the only opponent to ever drop Foreman multiple times, and the fact Foreman fought guys like Frazier (twice), Holyfield, Morrison and Norton. Whats even more impressive is the fact Cooney had been inactive for well over five years, and before then had only 3 bouts over the span of half a decade.
