I don't want to sound like Spud, but the Hennessy bill this Thursday (December 11) at York Hall would be worth popping along to as an appetiser for the great weekend ahead. Four really good 10-rounders feature (Bosworth-Smith, Meager-Shepherd, Spartacus-Lansdowne and Barrett-Hall), along with Ryan Rhodes against Peter Jackson. Can't go wrong with that.

Yeah they are 5 really good fights, all pretty close to call.

Shepard is a tough customer and it will be a good comeback win for him (although I'm not saying he'll beat Meager).

Barrett vs Hall is a real 50:50 battle, justing edging towards hall.

The other two bouts I have discussed on GITR's thread.

I hope Jacko's cold/flu doesn't go against him against Rhodes, I do favour Rhodes because of Jacko's health.

yeah they are good fights and are 50/50. I like the way he doesn't pad his fighter records with dodgy truckers from Belarus.

Looking forward to him bringing his fighters to Nott'm again.

yeah i'm not surprised herbie hide hasn't been very busy just lately obviously hennessy wants him mixed in better class now and sure enuff "the herb" has done a runner what the hell's happened to him

I think his fighters learn more from being in tough fights early than a lot of fighters from certain stables who have hideously padded out records and then the first test they have they fail...

he's got as much chance of landing a shot at chrissy as byrd spreading his wings and taking off

there's no doubt about it "the herb" has bottled it :(

oh dear getting the dates wrong, remember what happened at eastside when about a month before the show boxing news got the date wrong for a show....

Mick Hennessy rarely puts out weak cards, Jackson-Rhodes should be good although Ryan holds the edge in experience i think Peter's best chance is to stay away and try to outbox him. Good luck Peter!

I think that Hennessey has made the business of promotion look alot more simple again.

Decent fights between well-matched fighters.

He has made the recent trend of scouring Eastern Europe for (cheap) untraceables look pretty poor.

Do we think it will rub off on the SN lot eventually?

I don't particularly like doing this but I think Jackson should come clean.
His "problem" has been doing the weight - nothing else.
This is why the fight is no longer for the English Title.
Jackson will be over 12 stone for this one.
Rhodes will be Middleweight, because that's where he has to be.
Shame it's not for the title - but maybe a re match in January at the correct weight to sort it ?

They usually kick off about 7.30 ish I think, and usually finish well late, you normally get a hell of a lot of undercard fights at Hennessey shows, I nearly got stranded in Crystal palace for the Walker v Karmazin fight.

Yeah that's a problem, I don't really want to be getting out of there much after 11:30pm. Midnight at the latest. But then I don't want to miss any fights either.
