I was just saying his heart's not really in the game any more. He pulled out AFTER the weigh-in when they were last scheduled to meet at York Hall several weeks ago.

I hope not. But it's been too long since we've seen a really good performance from Danny.

i think we are all witnessing a change in the guard, in regard to the british heavy scene.

The question is, who is going to come top of the pile.

There's only so many excuses you can make for pulling out of fights
before people come to the conclusion that you're not really up for it any more.

Danny has always had problems getting 'up' for fights, now he appears to find it difficult to motivate himself to fight at all.

I don't know the ins and outs of this refusal, but it does look more and more like he's become a reluctant dragon.

just spoke to Wayne and he has spoken to Danny, its true. Danny is back with Frank

Jesus, Danny swaps alliegences more often than someone playing risk. you have to feel that the changes of management, trainers and cornermen have done nothing but harm his career. It's like he always feels that a change of direction will change his fortunes each time, whereas I feel that Danny's problems have all been in the mind.

He's not the most naturally gifted heavyweight ever, but I feel his talent is greater than his achievements for sure.

This is a shoker, now Skelton vs Williams sounds a really possibility.

Is it just a one off deal or has Danny said bye bye to the BBC. It must have been quite frustrating, because outside of Lennox the BBC had the two biggest domestic names in Hide and Harrison in the 2 years he's been there, there not been so much as a smell of a contest.

Seems like Hide is scared and I don't know what to think of Harrison.

Perhaps Skelton is the only fighter willing to fight him, the winner could really start thinking of some big contest. Of Course, Williams has to deal with TBA and Sprott first.

Two year deal, and a guarenteed shot at the WBO.
Guess that puts paid to Williams v Hide and Williams v Harrison.
Suggestion re match with Sprott will happen early next year.
Presume after that, the usual long list of unknown foreigners.

What it has done is it will have harmed Lion Promotions who, apart from Lennox do they have in the HW Division.

This basically ruins Lions chances with the BBC

Tua and Oquendo will contest the vacant belt in 2004.

But maybe Sports Network can slip through the back door and get Danny a shot while Tua is sorting out his managerial problems.

Cheers, Kilburn. I wonder if Danny's going to relinquish his British and Commonwealth titles shortly! It wouldn't surprise me if, despite what he says, Danny ducks out of the tricky rubber match with Sprott and builds up to the WBO shot. That would leave the way clear for Skelton to fight for the vacant British title, perhaps against Sprott. All Skelton has to do is get past Julius Francis next time out (which he should) and then Mr. Warren will have something big to offer Skelton and Williams.
