Most anyone browsing this section of the forum would be aware of the four fights between Willie Pep and Sandy Saddler. They are known as being pretty controversial because they were so marred with fouls. I have been able to find footage of their third and fourth fights, which are known to be the dirtiest, but I haven't been able to find any of the first two. The first two fights appear, at least from the accounts I've read, to have been more quality affairs than the the last two, which are more novelty than anything by today's standards.
So, does anyone know where footage of Saddler vs Pep I and II is available? I found a thread about footage of the second fight, but the youtube link was dead.
If not, I would appreciate any accounts of the fights from other members.
I have read a theory that Pep may have thrown the first fight. Does anyone know if their is actually solid evidence to support the claim?
