Boxing Central is reporting that Ricky Hatton is a certainty to beat Ghanaian Ben Tackie tomorrow according to the punters, who are betting en masse on the unbeaten champion. That's not the way Victor Chandler's boxing odds guru sees things, however. Colm Andrew believes that Hatton's army of vociferous supporters that will pack out the Manchester MEN Arena could be in for an upset.
"Hatton is always totally dominant against opponents that are simply looking to survive but if Tackie decides to plant his feet and then come forward - what will he do then?"
That's the question odds man Andrew poses as backers of 1/4 Hatton continue to steam in for the 25-year-old Brit.
"Hatton's camp will have been concerned at the way that Aldo Rios stood up to most of his punches in his last fight and Rios is nothing more than a blown-up lightweight," added the odds man.
Tackie is rated a 3/1 chance to win on Saturday night.
Andrew also tips Cory Spinks to see off cigar-chomping brawler Ricardo Mayorga in the WBC, WBA & IBF Welterweight unification title fight.
"Mayorga is a class act, as his two wins against Vernon Forrest prove, but I believe that Spinks is a rising star and has the tools to get the job done and cause an odds against upset," said Andrew.
Fight betting: Mayorga 1/4, Spinks 11/4, Tie 33/1
Andrew's other fancies are Rahman to beat Ruiz, Hopkins to beat Joppy, and Reid to beat Ottke.
