how doe's this make haye wladimir's defining fight??? haye got spanked by thompson & had a life or death battle v fragomeni were he pulled it out the fire & believe me his arms were really slow & he was fuk'd & the norwegian had him cut & digging deep & then the mormeck fight was in the balance after battering him for 5rds were he was drpped & wobbling all over the shop. how does this make him a big player??? can someone throw light on it as i cant see how haye can talk so much sh1t :!:
Haye say's Wlad's legacy need's him to succeed.
Haye say's Wlad's legacy need's him to succeed.
I found this statement laughable :!:. o.k haye(controversially) beat the biggest champ of all time
who was also involved in the biggest controversial decision of the year, versus a 46yr old battleworn holyfield :!: & was convincingly twatted by chagaev, who failed misrably v wlad . then haye beat's the tough guy ruiz who's had the toughness knocked out him allready :!: do people forget seeing ruiz struggle & war with a journeyman on the valuev bill??? & then Audley harrison
.....

Re: Haye say's Wlad's legacy need's him to succeed.
Beating Haye would probably be Wladimir's best win, so it would definitely add to his legacy.
Re: Haye say's Wlad's legacy need's him to succeed.
Biggest doesn't equal best... end of that argument really.
Haye has just arrived on the HW scene and will leave as quickly, if he is sticking to his promise.
Both Klitschko's may have been called boring but theres no denying that between them they have cleared out any challengers in recent years, its not as if there is a whole string of fighters who have been avoided, Solis and Adamek are the latest in a long line of challengers. Haye is just another hopeful who happens to have some jewellery too. Yeah he's talented, but compared to either of the Klitschkos hes beaten no-one at all, and if he rides off into the sunset without the payday/titles/glory of those two fights it will be his own fault, serve him right, and reflect worse on him than anyone else.

Would you agree that the benefit to Haye of his winning would be greater? and that, ergo, the tarnish of the fight not happening (i.e their being considered on their CVs thus far) is greater on Haye than Wlad, all negotiations notwithstanding?Horse wrote:Beating Haye would probably be Wladimir's best win, so it would definitely add to his legacy.

Haye is talking pash - get the fight in the ring FFS!! Wlad has a legacy of beating mediocre heavyweights - adding haye to the list wont change much when we look back in 20 -30 years time
Re: Haye say's Wlad's legacy need's him to succeed.
because he'll expose haye & send him packing horse.
Re: Haye say's Wlad's legacy need's him to succeed.
Maybe, but it would still be considered one of his best wins.hurlock wrote:because he'll expose haye & send him packing horse.

I wish the klits aswell as haye would retire this year,it's just getting boring now,we need a new era of heavyweights.

The rest of them are crap.Andypittcov wrote:I wish the klits aswell as haye would retire this year,it's just getting boring now,we need a new era of heavyweights.

This is it - people rail against the Klitschkos, to quote someone here, for beating mediocre challengers, then expect that if they retire, the same mediocre talents - losing to eachother often as not as no-one is that much better than the next man - will be an improvement

It will be an improvement really as it will be more competitive and better to watch as a boxing fan. At the moment its like watchin Barca and Real Madrid play in the Vauxhall Conference - take them away and its more interesting for all in terms of competitionMatthewS wrote:This is it - people rail against the Klitschkos, to quote someone here, for beating mediocre challengers, then expect that if they retire, the same mediocre talents - losing to eachother often as not as no-one is that much better than the next man - will be an improvement

Re: Haye say's Wlad's legacy need's him to succeed.
It just seems like a funny thing to wish for - I follow two mediocre teams (West Ham, and a much lower non-league side) and I wish we were better, not that we only had to play other teams who couldn't pass a chip-shop, nevermind a football.
Re: Haye say's Wlad's legacy need's him to succeed.
vitali i think would of held his own in an era & is one of the most under rated fighter's of his generation.but apart from him it is a massively mediocre division where big athletes rather become a baller & have the cribs & money even if sitting on a bench & fat useless lumps like chas witherspoon think im big im heavy i know how to punch you dont have to be that good...get me a promoter

I think beating Byrd, Peter and Ibragimov would rate higher then a win over Haye at this point.Horse wrote:Beating Haye would probably be Wladimir's best win, so it would definitely add to his legacy.
If Haye was to beat Povotkin and then Vitaly that would be a different matter.
Re: Haye say's Wlad's legacy need's him to succeed.
Haye needs Wlad more than Wlad needs Haye, IMO.

agreed .. What has Haye done to compare to either K-brother?
Re: Haye say's Wlad's legacy need's him to succeed.
id love haye to challenge them & win. but they are THE champions & rulers & haye is sitting on his title like a paperweight demanding he should be treated as the champion despite just arriving.
haye said he was the saviour & bla bla bla then pulls out of there first meeting & then wins a crown & then announces he is clearing off at 31 i cant take him seriously & have really lost intrest in him & hope his next contest is against a decent heavyweight.
