I saw his name years ago listed on a game called Title Bout. Until then I'd never heard of him. Certainly has a good record and looks like a real fighter.

I have several of his fights. Not world class, but great fighter.
Rumour is that he was badly affected when the hurricane "Cathrina" hit New Orleans and lost more or less all.

First I heard of him affected by "Katrina". In recent years, he was involved in The Bahamas Govt. (Parks and Recreation I believe) and lived there until his recent death.
I believe that they named a Govt. Recreation Bldg after him because of his loyal support to the youth there. That before he passed away.

Yama was inducted into the Florida Boxing Hall of Fame last year. At the time of his death he owned a bar and small hotel in Bimini which is now run by his daughters.

He was a top fighter at a time when champions were lineal and not alphabet soup.
