I really can see Carl doing a number on Sykes. I dont think it will go the distance. I think Johansson is possible the worst person he could fight after that devestating 1st Round KO from Buckland in prizefighter.
I think Carl looks like he could be getting back to his best and seems hungry for another tilt at domestic honours.
3/1 for Carl to win inside the distance is an absolute steal IMO.

3/1 is a decent price. Sykes shoulda taken a warm up fight or 2 before stepping in against someone as seasoned as CJ. There's no denying Sykes has the skills to outbox him but i wonder how he'll be mentally when the bell rings? The fight against Buckland was such a shock musta hit him hard losing in such fashion.
Carl looked pretty slow last time out and Gary sykes is not in boxing to make a show of himself. He'll have his bat sense and punch anticipation turned right up; he'll box his way past the 6th round and then turn it up. I think Gary will grind Carl down; what're the odds on a stoppage after round 9?

there only odds for round 7-12. both fighters priced at 11/2

Johanson didn't look great in his last fight, he seemed slow. For me, Gary outboxes Johanson. We'll see him being a lot more cautious, but he should have the handspeed to deal with it.
I agree, Gary outboxes Johanson, he's been doing some good work round here and seems pretty confident.
well ive had a £125 punt of CJ to win within the distance at 3/1.
I cant see Sykes hurting CJ, i think he will walk him down taking whatever Sykes throws at him. I think the ref will halt it between 5 & 8. if it goes past 8 rounds CJ will start to gas and sykes will win points..... he says ;;-)
Alex you may well be right, in theory Sykes will put burst of punches together getting in and out scoring points with the punches landed. Carl isn't hard to find, he will march forward all night missing with the jab and then trying the big overhand right. The question is IF Carl lands with the big right will Sykes buckle?? Should be very interesting.

From what I saw against Crolla and O'Hara, Sykes likes to stand close and trade, which you would think would suit CJ - Sykes would be better off moving and using his reach, a bit like George Watson did from time to time. I think it's a dangerous fight for Sykes but then again there are question marks about Johanneson's lack of activity and making 130 perhaps a struggle at 34yo? Overall I think Johanneson is fair value
Should be a cracking fight, I take Sykes with his youth to win this, but you never know the Buckland defeat was a sensational KO I bet it has shook him pretty bad. I'm unsure how much Johansson has left, early he could be a danger but he seems to gas in the second half of fights, did do against Mitchell and at 34 this can;t really have changed very much.
Just remains to be seen what CJ has left at this level whether he can still compete. Neither fighter is on sparkling form. I fancy Sykes to outbox him early on but Johansson will surely land his bombs at some point. Why is Buckland not getting the shot? He going back to LW?
Tough fight for Sykes, but fair play to the guy going straight back in with a banger like Johannson after suffering a 1st round KO last time out.
Carl's capable of knocking out most Super feathers in Britain, so it's quite possible he could bang out Sykes, but I think Gary will win on points, after some shaky moments.
From what I heard, Sykes seems pretty confident, he's had an open gym day to the locals this week or last week.
Hope he bounces off the back off that last KO.
